Make your own tv cut scene sound
On CSI and other shows, it seems to be very ‘hip’ to make a rising loud sound right at the end of a scene before commercials. How do they do it? Well it’s basically a ‘pluck’ sound playing back in reverse. You can do it with the free program Audacity.
Step 1: Generate a ‘Pluck’
Step 2: Select a low pitch. I used MIDI 20 here, and two seconds in length.
It will sound something like this:
Step 3: Once you have your pluck, simply reverse it so it plays backwards.
Step 4: There is no step four. That’s it! Feel free to double this / add effects / scary music, as needed.
